ARRIVAL GUWAHATI AIRPORT (GAU) / GUWAHATI RAILWAY STATION (GHY) – GUWAHATI

Guwahati (1148 Ft / 350 Mts, 25 Kms / 01 Hrs drive approx)

Arrive Guwahati Airport (GAU) / Guwahati Railway Station (GHY) and then transfer to hotel. Checkin & Overnight at Hotel

Dirang (5120 Ft / 1560 Mts, 360 Kms / 08 to 09 Hrs drive approx)

Today drive to Dirang, en route at Tipi visit Orchid Center and en route visit Sessa Orchid Sanctuary (Blooming time is from end March till May). Check into the hotel. Overnight at Dirang.

Dirang (5120 Ft / 1560 Mts)

Today after breakfast visit Mandela Top (after a certain point you can move out of the vehicle and take leisurely walk in the scenic location). A further downhill walk will take you to the local Monastery.

Back to Dirang & visit Dirang Monastery. Break for lunch. After lunch go for excursion to Sangti Valley (one can take a stroll in the valley). Back to hotel and overnight at Dirang.

Tawang (10000 Ft / 3048 Mts, 160 Kms / 06 to 07 Hrs drive approx

After breakfast drive to Tawang, enroute you will visit Sella Pass and Sella Lake situated at an altitude of 13476 ft. Also visit Jaswantgarh and before reaching Tawang visit the Nunarang fall. Reach Tawang and check in to the Hotel. Overnight at Tawang.

Tawang (10000 Ft / 3048 Mts)

After breakfast, today visit Tawang Monastery - The Famous GadenNamgyalLhatse, popularly known as Tawang Monastery was founded by Merak Lama LodreGyatso in the year 1680-81. The monastery stands on the spur of a hill, about 10,000 feet above sea level and has ravines in the south and west, narrow ridge on the north and gradual slope on the east. It offers a commanding and picturesque view of the Tawang-chu valley. From a distance it appears like a fort as if guarding the votaries in the wide valley below. Tawang monastery is the largest of its kind in the country and is one of the largest t monasteries in Asia. Though it has the capacity for housing about seven hundred monks, the actual number of resident lamas (monks) at present is a little more than 450. This monastery is the fountain-head of the spiritual life of the people of this region. Also visit Urgelling Monastery - the birth place of Sixth Dalia Lama. After a late lunch and refreshment visit Tawang War Memorial and evening at leisure. Overnight at Tawang.

Bumla Pass (15200 Ft / 4633 Mts, 37 Kms / 01 ½ to 02 Hrs drive from Tawang)

Madhuri Lake (12165 Ft / 37085 Mts, 25 Kms / 01 Hr drive from Bumla Pass)

Tawang (10000 Ft / 3048 Mts, 40 Kms / 01 ½ to 02 Hrs drive from Madhuri Lake)

After breakfast, you will drive to Bumla Pass (15200 Ft / 4633 Mts) which is located about 37 km away from Tawang at the Indo-China border over 15,200 ft above sea level. A further drive will take you to visit high altitude lake called as Shunga-tser Lake, popularly known as Madhuri Lake (12165 Ft / 37085 Mts) located 25, kms away from Bumla Pass near the China Border. During return take a photo stop at the beautiful PTSO lake en route. Later in the afternoon drive back to hotel. Rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight at Tawang.

Note

1.      Our vehicles are not allowed to do PTSo lake, Madhuri lake & Bumla Pass Sightseeing. Local vehicle will be provided for the same. We have no control on this local vehicle which may be a combination of Non AC Tat Sumo/Xylo etc.

2.      Bumla la pass is a border between India & China, hence additional formalities are involved, Kindly refer enter & documentation formalities

After breakfast  drive to Dirang. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Dirang.

Kaziranga National Park (197 Ft / 60 Mts, 260 Kms / 07 to 08 Hrs drive approx)

After an early breakfast drive to Kaziranga. Upon reaching check in to the hotel. Overnight at Kaziranga.

Kaziranga National Park:

In the heart of Assam, covering an area of 430 sq-kms, is inhabited by the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds. In 1985, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its unique natural environment.

Kaziranga National Park (197 Ft / 60 Mts)

After breakfast go for Optional: Elephant Ride / Jeep Safari (subjected to availability & operational condition) to one Range. After lunch go for Optional: Jeep Safari (subjected to availability & operational condition) to the other Range. Visit Kaziranga National Orchid And Biodiversity Park (Subjected to time availability & operational condition). Overnight at Kaziranga.

2.      Entry ticket & Jeep safari are all regulated and controlled by the forest Dept. Govt. of Assam. We do not have any control on the booking of entry ticket & Jeep safari.

3.      Elephant rides are conducted and controlled by the forest department. We cannot confirm the same in advance. The ticket counter for booking opens only in the evening, one day prior to the ride. Only after securing the tickets, we can confirm the ride for you.

4.      If there is an increase in the cost for jungle activities by the Forest Department / hike in fuel price, then there will be supplement cost applicable on & above the quoted package cost.

Shillong (5002 Ft / 1525 Mts, 280 Kms / 06 to 07 Hrs drive approx)

After breakfast transfer to Shillong. Enroute visit Maha Mrityunjay Temple, Umium Lake (also known as Barapani Lake), a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. Over night at Shillong.

Mawphlang (4906 Ft / 1496 Mts, 30 Kms / 01 to 01 ½ Hrs drive approx oneway from Shillong)

After breakfast go for a excursion to Mawphlang Sacred Forest and also visit Elephant Falls if not visited earlier, Ward lake. Afternoon visit Don Bosco Museum (Closed on Sunday), Lady Hydra Park, Cathedral Cathotic Church - In the heart of the city, there stands a beautiful cathedral of Roman Catholics dedicated to Mary Help of Christian. Evening if time permit visit Police Pazaar (on your own). Overnight stay at Shillong

Mawlynnong (4906 Ft / 1496 Mts, 80 Kms / 03 to 04 Hrs drive approx oneway from Cherrapunjee)

Dawki River (85 Ft / 26 Mts, 30 Kms / 01 to 02 Hrs drive approx oneway from Mawlynnong)

Cherrapunjee (4690Ft / 1430 Mts, 90 Kms / 03 to 04 Hrs drive approx oneway from Dawki Lake)

Wake up early and have your breakfast and drive to Mawlynnong. Today you can explore the cleanest village Mawlynnong in the world. Also visit Single living Root Bridge. (15 mins gradual walk downwards / 20 mins gradual walk upwards)

After lunch drive to Dawki. Dawki is the gateway to Bangladesh where major export and import transactions take place. It is a splendid drive of 45 kilometres passing through deep gorges and ravines, which is certainly a thrilling experience. On approaching Dawki is the Umngot River, The Umngot River is the natural boundary between Ri Pnar or Jaintia Hills with Hima Khyrim of Khasi hills over which a single span suspension bridge was constructed. Later drive to Cherrapunjee. On arrival check in & Overnight at Cherrapunjee.

Cherrapunjee (4690Ft / 1430 Mts)
After breakfast visit – Garden of Caves, Arwah Cave / Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. Later drive back to hotel. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.

OR

Cherrapunjee – Double Decker – Cherrapunjee (Long & Tiring Day) (Closed on Sunday)

Cherrapunjee (4690 Ft / 1430 Mts)

After breakfast go for a trek to Double Decker Living Root Bridge – 3 to 4 hours walk oneway from the starting point (depending on the Fitness of the guest). The distance cover is around 4 km one-way with down and up of 1000 feet height approx. This trek goes downhill through village Sohsarat. The steps are relatively steeper in two short stretches. Half the distance is covered by steps going downhill. Then there is a jungle path going along the sides of the hill leading to the Living Root Bridge with a few steps after short stretches of sloping foot path. Moss thrives on these sandstone steps during the monsoon and makes them slippery, hence one need to be extra careful. Later trek back to the starting point and then board your vehicle to drive back to the hotel. Overnight at Cherrapunjee.

Notes:

1.      Rainbow waterfalls is further 01 hour walk from Double Decker Route Bridge Point. In case,  guests want to cover,  is based on individual choice & fitness level, they need to inform the driver accordingly.
Optional:

Guwahati (1148 Ft / 350 Mts, 170 Kms / 05 to 06 Hrs drive approx)

After breakfast check out and proceed to Guwahati & depending on the availability of time, sightseeing of Umananda Shiv Temple (Ferry Charge on direct payment) & Navagraha Temple. On time in the evening go for River Cruise (on direct payment & subjected to operational condition). Upon reaching, checkin & over night at Guwahati.

OR

Cherrapunjee - Guwahati Half Day Sightseeing (Non Temple)

Guwahati (1148 Ft / 350 Mts, 170 Kms / 05 to 06 Hrs drive approx)

After breakfast & depending on the availability of time, sightseeing of Science Museum (Closed on Monday) OR Sankardev Kalakhetra OR Pragjyotika Assam Emporium (Closed on Sunday) On time in the evening go for River Cruise (on direct payment & subjected to operational condition). Upon reaching, check in & over night at Guwahati.

1.      The completion of suggested sightseeing will be subjected to time spent by the guest at each sightseeing places.
